Description

Medium Body, Sweet (Nasco - overripe grapes*). DOC. Alc 12%.

TASTING NOTES: Very floral and aromatic (vanilla and spices). Striking a great balance of sweetness and acidity. Pair with a light, creamy dessert or fresh fruit. Nice alongside homemade churros with a lemon curd dip!

WINERY NOTES: "There is a place where nothing seems impossible."

WINEMAKING: Maceration on the skins for 36 hours, soft pressing and slow fermentation in stainless steel temperature-controlled vats.

Food Pairing: Almond based sweets, pine nut and raisin.

* described on label in Italian as "vino da uve stramature" also be known as "late harvest" which Jancis Robinson explains as "grapes that have been harvested later than is normal for dry wines in order to make a sweet wine, generally without the aid of noble rot. They are generally left on the vine so that the berries are rich in sugar (see must weight), or even longer so that the fruit starts to desiccate, resulting in dried-grape wines".
