Unfiltered Wines

Wines that have not been filtered ("non-filtrato") usually show this on the label.

The sediment will be more noticeable in these wines, even if they are quite young, so don't be alarmed! Decant the wine (or pour slowly) to avoid transferring the sediment to your glass.

NB: If you are looking for a vegan-friendly wine pick an unfiltered bottle, as the non vegan-friendly aspect of wine production is the common use of animal-based fining agents like albumen, casein, gelatin or isinglass (although many wineries, including most in our collection, now use a type of vegetable-flour instead).
