TASTING NOTES: colour - pale straw yellow, almost golden; nose - fruity and earthy; palate - dry and pleasant with a lingering finish.

VINEYARD + WINEMAKING NOTES: The vines grow in sandy soil, facing north-west 280 meters above sea level, in the Monteodorisio area. The pecorino (aka pecorello) grapes are vinified off-the-skins, at a controlled temperature of 14 C, with 6 months in steel followed by months in the bottle.

LAURA'S NOTES: This is an aromatic, fruity white from central Italy with some resemblance to Viognier (think summer flowers and peach notes) or Marsanne (hints of orange), with a lovely overall roundness. If you like Chateauneuf-du-Pape Blanc I think you'll enjoy this wine! Elegant and layered, so pair with delicate dishes to allow the wine's nuances to shine through ;-)

FUN FACT: the name of the grape is thought to derive from the local sheep (aka pecora) that came down from the hills to nibble the ripening fruit around harvest time. Easy to remember if you think of Pecorino cheese (ie: ewe's milk cheese)!
