Wines made from 'white' grapes with extended skin contact, often resulting in richer hues that can be called amber or orange.
Juice that macerates on its skins, like in red wine production, develops texture and body. There is usually a tannic component (that's missing from 'modern' white wines) and this can give a fascinating extra dimension, plus more food-pairing possibilities.
