Wines by Pietradolce of Sicily.
On the northern slopes of Europe’s largest volcano, Mount Etna, the boutique winery of Pietradolce produces wines made exclusively from grapes native to the area.
Established in 2005, the Pietradolce estate cultivates 11 hectares of vineyards (some of which are 120 years old). The soil around Mount Etna is surprisingly diverse. Each area has a different composition to its neighbour. The Pietradolce estate cultivates land that sits between 600 and 900 feet above sea level and in its vineyards the soil is mainly stony with a light, sandy consistency and, crucially, it is packed with minerals. The triangular company logo symbolises their admiration for, and submission to, the volcano. The designs of their wine labels are also a celebration of the beauty and power of Etna, with some portraying an elegant image of a woman whose long hair forms the slopes of the mountain. The Pietradolce portfolio includes red, white and rose wines that speak to the very soul of Mount Etna.
